I finally have a modem!!!

We've decided to cancel on the provider because it's taking them WEEKS to deliver the modem to us, and worse of all, we have to get our own router when it's here. So my smart cousin went to the school's bookstore to get one that's really reliable (they'll refund us money if it doesn't work), so I FINALLY HAVE UNLIMITED INTERNET!!!!

YAY!!!!

One of the things we took for granted in Singapore yea? Fast, high-speed internet which allows you to load all your videos, pictures, whatever you want.

I'M GONNA SAY HI TO MORE DRAMAS!!! :D :D :D

Okay now that I have HIGH SPEED INTERNET (yippeeeee!), I shall post some photos of what I've been up to!

Just one week ago, my couzzie and I chanced upon this Korean restaurant that offers $6 lunch set! Which is SUPER CHEAP over here in Aussie! So we decided to come back and give it a try!

Issues

We've launched Collection 36! Do check it out here! :)
Okay I admit the cover was a pretty bad job done.. But I haven't got photoshop installed in this laptop so there's very little that I can play around with. So please make do with it okay!

I couldn't blog for the past few days because I can't upload pictures! My wireless is capped at 4GB and I bet it's now 3.89GB or something.. Uploading pictures will take up a lot of space, so I can't do that! & yes we have a CAP on our wireless, this suck so much! Can my modem just arrive already!?

Anyhow, have encountered some hiccups @ work and I feel that there's a need to like explain some stuff here?

1. NORMAL MAIL cannot be tracked
The reason why normal mail is SO CHEAP, and that we provide it for free for those in our mailing list, is that it carries with it RISK. If you're not prepared to deal with lost mails, then please choose registered mail. It's only an additional $2.50, which is less than a cup of bubble tea (nowadays). So if you can afford a cup of bubble tea, I don't see why you can't afford this reg mail thing.

Postage is charged by SINGPOST, not by us blogshops. We DO NOT EARN from postage costs at all. Some blogshops charge an additional $2.50, some $2.24, but I can tell you that I myself do not earn at all from these charges. WHY? Let me show you some calculations okay..

Prolly 80% of our customers are from our mailing list, which means we have to PAY for the normal mail postage. And if they choose reg mail, we have to pay for the postage partially too. Some blogshops don't give you the discount they give for normal mail and offset it from registered mail (friends told me), but I do, so I def. do not earn from them! Please also think about how we have to lug the parcels, queue (sometimes it take 45 mins) and post them out. So it's not at all an easy job.

If you lose your normal mail parcel, we simply cannot do anything about it. Why?
Customer email about not receiving -> we enquire about it at Singpost -> They tell us normal mail cannot be tracked, so how to find? -> we leave without getting an answer -> Tell customer the same thing -> Some understand, some scold us, some request for refunds
Who's at the losing end?

In some absurd cases, we have customers telling us that they do not believe that we have posted the items out (that was quite long ago, I'm glad we didn't get these e-mails already). But, think about it.. We have a business to run, we wouldn't want to do anything that would harm our reputation, we know how word of mouth can make or break a brand, so why would we want to even do anything to harm ourself?

2. Discount codes are an incentive for our customers, not for them to make use of.
Very often, I get customers emailing us about forgetting to key in the code bla bla. We normally shut an eye about this, and just give them a discount.

Then we get people who want to COMBINE discount codes that they might have found from blogs and through our mailers.

And then we have people who just place an order and email me DEMANDING me for discounts because "it's my first time buying", "I'm buying a lot", "I am a reader of Zoe". LOTS OF EXCUSES. Hello.... I'm not running a charity here okay?

You don't go to ZARA or TOPSHOP and say "I'm new to your shop, got discount?".
.....
Of course I know my blogshop is only a pea compared to them, but that's how retail shops work right?

3. Don't bully us if we're nice to you!
Our customers are really nice most of the time, but I really don't understand why some people have to be so MEAN :( We don't really owe you a living, so please try to be nice?

I know I may sound very agitated or something, but I just feel that there's a need to say these out. There're bound to be ups and downs when doing a business, but as humans, we need a space to rant and all.

So if you feel offended to any of the above, you're prolly just one of those that I happened to mention as being mean to us or something :)

Have a great weekend girls!

Preview for Collection 36

Hi girls! While I have some time on hand before my next class, I've decided to put up this preview for what's coming up THIS FRIDAY!

And yes, another collection with our own manufactured piece! Who says spring is all about florals? I'm sure you girls need some casual basic 'cos they're so versatile and easy to pair with!

Here we have with us, a fake two piece top! I know how most of you love the arm cutout thingy, so I've added it for this piece too! They come in 4 colors and my picks are the navy and oatmeal!

PERFECT for lazy days when you don't wannt dress up! It goes really well with bandage skirts as well, and you can choose to tuck them out if pairing with shorts! Good for the sunny weather in Singapore!

Did we also mention that it's gonna be priced at a super reasonable price? :D

Some other stuff that's going to be up on this week's collection as well!

Photobucket

Photobucket

A purple lace tube dress for the petites! Fits UK4 to UK8 only! I love how sweet it looks, and who can resist lace?!?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Another dress with lace inserts at the shoulders and you can also wear it as an off-shoulder dress like how Zoe did, if you have a small frame like her! Good for work as well, and the material is really good for the bottom part. Not those kinda thin sheer bodycon material y'know?

Photobucket

And yes we've got Zonia with us this time round too! A kimono-top bodycon dress, this is specially catered for those who're less comfortable for showing their arms and need work dresses! You wouldn't need to wear a blazer over, even when you go out for lunch (and we know how the weather can be a b*tch at times right??). Comfy material too, I promise!

Stay tuned for this week's collection okay! Gonna be up on FRIDAY night, 7PM!

See ya girls!

P.S. We might be holding a backorder for the previous spring chiffon top in cream and pink. If you haven't gotten the chance to get it, join our mailing list to get first hand info!

Sunday morning~

It's about 945 AM over here at Melbourne and I have finally fixed the layout of my blog last night:
By using my very old template. It'll be temporary 'cos I find it quite disorganized and ugly.. Can't seem to figure out what's wrong with the new template thingy over at blogger, and it pissed me off so greatly! But for this old template, there isn't any platforms for you girls to leave your comment except for the formspring thingy. It's really easy to use though! Just type whatever you want to say, be it a question or just a random comment, and click submit or whatever. Simple as that!

Okay enough about the stupid template and layout. Shall post some pictures I've taken during my 2 weeks stay over in Melbourne!

Last week, we headed to South Melbourne to have breakfast! Here's some photos I took 'cos it was really cold and I was rather lazy to take more!

Graffiti on the walls. You'll see this pretty much if you stay here.

Market! The cafe we were supposed to be having breakfast was opp this market. And FYI, this market is HUGE. Sorry I don't really know the name...

And because we had to wait for 10 mins before we get our seats, we went to roam around the area. My couzzie brought us to this little stall that sells...

PASTRIES!

And more! MACARONS!

I am a sucker for pastries and whenever I see these pretty little things, I want to buy ALL OF THEM home! They have quite a large number of varieties and we spent so much time over there. We were totally won over by the Florentines, got like 6 huge ones home! And the bill came up to about AUD36? Which is like.. SGD40 odd.

IKR we're crazy. But the guy said we could keep them for like a month or so, so we thought "just buy, can keep." Typical Singaporeans style hor?
:P

And over to breakfast!

Hot chocolate that I ordered! SUPER YUMMY!
& other breakfast sets:

Mine was rather disappointing, not as good as I thought it'll be. But it's okay 'cos we brought so much pastries home!

We went over to DFO shortly after, to get some more necessities because I didn't think it'll be THAT cold over here. Supposed to be spring or something ley! DFO is like this huge mall where they have outlets inside. Brands like La Senza, Cotton On etc all sell their past season's stuff over there at REALLY CHEAP prices. La Senza bras were like.. 2 for $35 or something? And they have sizes!

And this was over on Wednesday, where we headed for the last night market (only happens in Summer) over at Victoria Market.

OTD:

HAHA I know you can't see much here because it's so cold and I have to put on a thick jacket! And I got this at $10 from Cotton On the last time I was here! SUPER WORTH IT!

Pictures of the night market:

It was HUGE! And there were a lot of stalls selling food from all over the world, some selling clothes and there were even performances going on here and there. Quite an eye opener!

Some food!

Really fresh prawns and scallops! AUD11 for two sticks, but it was ALL WORTH IT!

Look at the prawns, crunchy and juicy. YUMS

& crepes! We had to queue for pretty long to get them. Crepes over here are not as crispy as those we see in SG or BKK, but surprisingly still nice!

Paella! Spanish rice!

Really good corn!

And some dumplings with honey. It's basically deep fried flour with honey. That I don't like! HAHA

And we chanced upon this lady painting by the roadside. She just displayed her work with price tags and people will just go forward and pay her if they like what they see.
The power of VM.

Alrighty, I will be back next for a short tour of my apartment teehee! The view up here is AWESOME.

FYI, I'm staying on the 42nd storey haha!
