C41 - Sneaks

This week's my study break and it'll be my first day of exams coming Monday! Gosh there's just so much to prepare for OB, and I swear I will never ever take management subjects anymore. To all management students out there, I salute you!

School work aside, I'm finally done with the new web layout! Spent some time getting it up and I hope it looks good? Especially when you can now put the cursor over the image and it'll zoom in for you! Awesome max, do check out the new layout and give me some suggestions okay! :)

We'll be launching a new collection on Thursday! Yes finally! We've been on a hiatus for like a month? That's because I've been real busy, and my sister too, so it's quite difficult to coordinate a launch.. But come July we'll be launching weekly (I hope!), and I've got like 13 manufactured designs ready for you girls! YAYYYY and best thing is? They're gonna be priced very very affordable, esp for you students! :] If you'd want to know how our pricing will be like, do stay tuned for the upcoming collection, I promise I won't disappoint you girls :)

Some pictures to expect what's coming up on Thursday!

Basic Ruffled Sleeves Tank Top
Lovingly Manufactured by SIX&TWELVE

- in Yellow, Magenta, Turquoise and Navy

Back of top is racerback, and can be slightly sheer due to it being chiffon material. But it's super comfy when worn, especially in SG's weather (which I know is burning hot yea?)! Personally love the Yellow and Turquoise a lot, 'cos they seem so cheery!
What's special about this is that there are ruffles all along the hems, even at the back! Love how casual it is at the same time too. Tuck them into a pair of shorts or pair them with jeans and you'll be good to go!

Straps are adjustable and material is light-weight. We have it in ballerina prints and colorful pumps too, so stay tuned to find out how they look like during the launch! :)

Peter-pan Collared Dress
Exclusively Imported by SIX&TWELVe

We love how the collar and pocket trimmings contrast with the basic grey of the dress!

Do you ever..?

Today marks the last day of my first semester here in Uni Melb. Can I just say that time really flies this year? Somehow or other, June's coming, which meant that almost of the year has zoomed past without me really realizing.

Lots happened while I was here in Melbourne, and while there are certainly dramas and things that happened that made me really sad, I'm just glad that I came here. Among all the things that I've learnt during my short stay here, the most valuable thing that I've taken away from this stay is that:

One must never, ever take things for granted.

People usually only come to treasure things when they lost it, or can't have it. It's true isn't it? Things that I usually take for granted back in Singapore, are not available here in Melbourne and it makes me treasure my life back in Singapore even more. Including the people I've left behind.

I was out running errands yesterday, and of all the things I need to get, I have to get uniball pens for my exams as the current ones I have are running out of ink. So I was rummaging through every bookstore or stationary shop that I can find, and they just don't stock the kind of pens I want. You know the usual 0.38 pens that so many of us are using? Yeap they don't have it. The closest I found was a 0.7 one which costs me AUD3.50, which is about.. SGD4.80?

And then there are things like food. You can't find fish soup or carrot cake like you did in hawker centers. Even if you can find a good plate of chicken rice, it'll be about AUD9 - AUD12. Portion is big yes, but I can't even finish it! Haha and then there'll be times where you'll feel so hungry in the middle of the night, but there isn't anywhere where you can just pop by and have supper like Bedok 85 and Punggol Nasi Lemak. Movies here can costs up to a whopping AUD20, and 3D glasses are not free, you have to buy them! Oh and street lamps. The streets here are not as well lit as back in Singapore, so I usually avoid going out at night. When you go grocery shopping, don't expect to be able to find things in the market that you do back in Singapore. Like when I was looking for lotus roots, they're only available in frozen packs in the Asian grocery store. & simple things like B&J ice creams are not available in supermarkets, only some shops which has the B&J fridge. Same goes for Haagen Daaz ice creams. When shopping for eggs in Melbourne, be sure to open up the box and check if they're broken. High chance is you'll find some cracks here and there, or only half an egg looking back at you.

You won't be able to find cosmetics brands like Laneige, Ettusias and all, so I've gotta stock up everytime before I come. Pads here can cost up to AUD9 a pack, so yea you get the drift.

It's the little things like these that I've experienced, that made me treasure Singapore so much more. I often hear people complaining how boring Singapore is. Well, true to an extent but isn't the quality of time spent what people always emphasized? You can always go on a short trip, miss home and come back.

Nothing will beat being back at home, trust me.

Then I thought of how I took my friends for granted too. They're always just a phone call away for supper or for clubbing, or just to watch a movie or shopping in town. You can always expect them to say okay let's go! While I'm here in Melb, I miss my friends truckloads although I do have friends here too. But it's just different. It's more of how you grew up with your friends back in sec school or poly that makes it so much different. People here are nice too, but once your tut is over, you'll just say goodbye and meet the next week. Some hang out with you and all, but the ones who stay and make you feel comfortable are usually those that you know back in sec school or before you came to uni. I guess it's the same back in Singapore, just that your friends are always within reach or just a phone call away.

We take things for granted, ALL THE TIME. It might be so with your boy/girlfriend, or with your family. Truth is, we're all living in too much comfort back in Singapore. Start opening your eyes wide and look around, to see if you'll actually miss anything when you leave this small island for say a few months.

You'll be surprised. ;)

Im back! :)

HELLO~~

Yes I know I have been missing for about 2 weeks, mainly because I was overwhelmed by all my assignments and tests. Have completed all of them, and next week's gonna be the last week of school for me. Yipeedoooo~ One step nearer to home! :>

Okay let's see what I've been up to.. Haven't been going out that much these few days as I need to complete all my assignments and study for tests and all that jazz. What I'm left to do now is to revise for exams which is gonna take place in 2-3 weeks' time! Have got two papers on the same day - Accounting and Law - yupz I'm so going to die I know..

Here's some long overdue photos that I've taken during the Easter break (almost a month ago?), and my sis flew over! Yep she's the one packing all the packages for SIX&TWELVE :)

We took a 5-6 hour ride to the Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles, and stopped by Geelong for lunch! Had kebabs which were so freaking awesome!

Photobucket

Here's my cute awesome sister with her lunch.
We rented a car and brought along so many snacks for the road trip! Cookies, chips, water, yoghurt snack bars, bread... etc and even my laptop in hope to touch on some of my assignments haha. Which apparently, failed la 'cos we were sleeping most of the time and trying my best not to puke cos of the bumpy ride.

Stopped along the way to pump petrol

Nearing nearing our destination....

You know what's the worst thing? Having to endure ANOTHER 3-4 hours ride back to the city. Bahhhh we were so drained at the end of the day, didnt even manage to do any work. And we had to climb out of bed early the next day for...

Mornington!

This time round, the ride wasn't as long. Prolly about 2 hours? Yeap our first destination was to the Strawberry Farm! BUT they don't allow us to pick strawberries! So disappointed luh. I guess it was prolly due to the influx of tourist over the Easter weekend, and thus there might not even be enough strawberries for us to pick? *sulks*

But we had awesome breakfast over there! Check out the pictures :D

Photobucket

Photobucket

Best muffin I've had in my life. Not too hard, enough moisture and the berries in it were..... OOMPH.

Photobucket

And this humongous strawberry sundae! YUMS I was in charge of the whipped cream. HAHA! For a non-strawberry lover like me, I must say the food there were pretty decent!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Anddddd. Strawberry cheesecake! I'm secretly in love with all the pinkish stuff all over our table teehee.

Then we headed to this place where they sell chocolates! Needless to say, we bagged loads of chocs home, including this no-sugar-added choc that I got for Daddy! Am so delighted to find it, like finally! Have been searching for no-sugar-add chocs for the longest time.

And then, last destination was the maze! Awesome fun we had in there haha thou there was a lot of walking to do under the scorching weather.

There were a number of mazes inside this place, and they were all pretty interesting. They even had this 3D maze which scared the hell out of us. :x

Another unique maze made of tyre:

And there's this mini farm which we went in to check out the animals haha

Photobucket

Then we spotted this loooooong slide thingy which they wanted to try. I was in charge of phototaking 'cos I was in a dress :( Yeap they had to lug the tyre thing up, which was super duper heavy!

Photobucket

Grabbed nachos along the way:

And while on the way home, we found this place with awesome possum view:

We had to return the car by 5PM so we headed back early. Headed out for dinner (which sucks) and ended the day with bubble tea! :)

So the next day was supposed to be a day for shopping! Headed out for brekkie early in the morning alone hardware lane, and boy the food are to-die-for!

So... our shopping destination was this...

SUPRE FACTORY OUTLET! YEEEPEEEE!
Just fyi, the supre outlet at melbourne has closed down! So was pretty deprived of shopping at Supre for quite a bit. And we found this outlet thanks to our friends, and boy, WE LOVE IT!

Photobucket

Look at all the clothes! Mountains and mountains of clothes! ALL! AT! CHEAP! PRICES!

Photobucket

Photobucket

The place was dem big la, we spent about 3 hours in it? YEAAAAAAAP IKR girls will always be girls. I even headed to the fitting room THREE times haha, with my basket full!

Here's my basket/trolley. So considerate of them to give us trolleys like this yea? Easy to move around and you need not carry the baskets. Just take and throw, take and throw. :P

Photobucket

Photobucket

Happy me with my loots. About... 18 items?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Yeappp we bought 34 items for like 275AUD? That's about 352SGD, so prolly $10/item? Still cheap! :)

Photobucket

Headed to this outlet place and had our tea break:

Alright end of my lengthy wordy post. Hope I've made up for the hiatus?
Anyway, we won't be launching new collections this month due to the family moving house back in Singapore, my exams, sissy being busy etc. BUT we'll be having a sales post coming right up!

Have also prepared NINE manufactured designs already! Am so so stoked to launch them. Can't wait to head back to SGP and have shoots with Zoe dear, and our new model (stay tuned to find out heehee).

Expect polka dots, chiffon (lots of it!!!!), and basics that'll be priced cheaply!!!
Am so excited, counting down to HOME! :)
